NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK
Every April we celebrate National
Volunteer Week in an effort to help
recognize and show the dedication
UHN volunteers give to our
hospitals. Volunteers across UHN
provide assistance in various clinics
and roles that help UHN live its
main value – the patients come rst.
By offering a kind ear, helping hand,
and the many skills they already
bring with them, volunteers aid in
keeping the patient experience the
best it can be.
To celebrate National Volunteer
Week, a feature seminar by the
Director of Bioethics, Ann Heesters,
partnered with Volunteer Manager,
Debbie Talbot, spoke about
managing boundary dilemmas in the
volunteer sector, titled “Good
Fences make Good Neighbours”.
We also hosted a Resume and
Interview Skills Workshop to help
our many post-secondary
volunteers get a leg up with some
useful and helpful tips from Karen
Moran, former HR Talent
Acquisition team member now
turned volunteer.
