“ I feel fortunate to have been able to
share the story of beginning my
relationship with UHN as a volunteer to
now being the Bioethicist at TGH.
Be it a smile to share, a quick laugh,
listening to our patients, or providing
support to staff in improving the
ef ciency of patient care- our
volunteers bring much needed comfort
to the complex and overwhelming
clinical environments of our healthcare
system.
I was delighted to learn from the
insights of our volunteers, and to be a
small part of appreciating and
celebrating them. A gentle reminder
that bioethics is a free and con dential
service available to all patients, staff,
and our wonderful volunteers.
