What is cybersecurity?

Cybersecurity is the practice of
defending information and information

technology (e.g., networks, systems,
applications, etc.) against accidental

and malicious events to maintain the

confidentiality, integrity, and availability

of these assets.

Role of Digital Security @ UHN

UHN’s Digital Security team’s role is to help ensure the

confidentiality, integrity and availability of UHN’s

information and IT assets by:

 Providing security consultation on technology,
processes and/or third party relationships (e.g., requests
for Threat Risk Assessments, vulnerability assessments,

penetration tests and digital certificate requests, etc.)
 Supervising or conducting security incident

investigations
 Providing cyber security awareness and education

 Conduct periodic phishing simulations to look for areas of
improvement

 Investigate issues related to spam or phishing attacks. Forward
suspected phishing emails to spam@uhn.ca.
