TALLman Lettering
OPIS displays TALLman lettering on all OPIS screens and generic reports. TALLman letters are uppercase letters that are used within a drug name to highlight its primary dissimilarities with look-alike drug names.
Drug format rules are applied as follows:
Generic TALLman drugs will be displayed in mixed case (e.g. SUNitinib, rituximab). See chart below for drug names that will appear in TALLman lettering.
Generic non-TALLman drugs will be displayed in lower case.
Brand-name drugs will be displayed in upper case unless they contain part of a TALLman generic drug name, in which case, the TALLman string will display in mixed case (e.g. DAUNOrubicin HYDROCHLORIDE FOR INJECTION).
Note: In free-text fields completed by OPIS users, such as Comments, Pharm Sig etc. text will display as it was entered by the user (i.e., not in TALLman format).
